About SSS Senior Leadership
Senior Leadership is a four credit course that is outside the timetable. The class meets in room 42 every Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. and every Friday at 7:45 a.m. Students are required to complete a total 40 hours of volunteer work through community and school projects (10 hours per term). The course is designed to explore and learn about leadership theories, philosophies and attributes and apply those through hands on project work throughout the year. Students who participate in this class have the opportunity to be the leaders in their school organizing a wide variety of projects including school dances, spirit rallies and other assemblies, intramurals and spirit days. Many community based volunteer opportunities are filtered through this class including work with the Summerland Food bank, Rotary International, Summerland Asset Development Initiative and special community events.
